A charity that grows
Allan has started his own charity with client assistance. It is named the “Children’s Charity” and administered by Perpetual Trustee’s. The goal is to assist under privileged children in our part of the world where we can make the biggest difference for each $1.00 of annual spend. The real need is for on basic medical treatment, education (particularly for girls) and a safe living environment (no malaria) for all children.
The focus for Allan is to make it personal! He loves surfing with his 4 children and mates in the LBRC and has been involved for many years in the local Surf Life Saving Club.
A word from Allan:
The Childrens Charity grows each year with donations and share investment growth. We distribute the income annually to Surf Aid.
The remote Metawai islands are an 8 hour launch trip from Indonesia’s island of Sumatra. The are the “best” surf destination in the world and right on our doorstep. They are incredibly under-developed. Surfaid founders story is worth reading. In the Metawais the work is run by locals for locals – so there is little leakage on donations. I believe in education to defeat religious extremes, in the education of girls to help reduce poverty, the basic right to clean water, and everyone should have access to a nurse/doctor.
Every $1,000 makes a large difference.”
